Discretization method question

Hi,

I wonder what type of expression I could use in the Discretization method property of a dimension attribute to achieve a custom grouping.

As an example, I have a margin % measure that I would also have available as a discretized dimension.

I guess first step would be to create a calculated member where the parent hierarchy would be dimension, then use discretization to specify something like

less than 0%
between 0% and 15%
greater than 15% and lower or equal 30%
greater than 30%

Any example out there?

Thanks,

Philippe

This article should explain it:

disable select-all from mutli-value report parameter

Is there ANY way to disable the display of select-all from the mutli-value
report parameter option in SRS 2005 SP2? We use a custom "All" option and
would like to supress the default select-all that is displayed
Thanks,

As far as I know, there is not (unless, of course, you revert back to
SP1). What is the reason you can't utilize the default Select All
functionality? Normally, this option is easy to implement as long as
you have a way to loop through the result set passed to the stored
procedure/query that sources the report. Normally, I handle this via a
while loop or cursor in the SP that loads a single column temp table
and then uses "where in/not in" the temp table. Hope this is helpful.

My previous response (on July 12th) was that you cannot. I offered a
work around at that time. The other question Mr. Lu will need to
address, as I am not affiliated w/Microsoft.

Sr. Software Consultant|||Hello Randall,
As Enrique Martinez mentioned in the previous post, you could not disable
the "Select All" unless you revert back to SP1.
He provide a workaround that you could use a SP to load a single column
temp table and then uses "where in/not in" the temp table.
Hope this helps.

Disable Right Click?

Is there anyway to disable mouse right click events in Reporting Services
Reports?
I am using RS 2005.
On custom web pages, I can either use javascript/vbscript or set
oncontextmenu="return false".
How can I accomplish the same results using Reporting Services?
I've been searching and find no built-in property for my desired result. I
do have access to Visual Studio 2005, is there a custom way to provide what I
need using VB.Net or other method?
I realize that even if possible, users can probably get around it, but at
least it will limit users from exporting data to Excel for example.
Thanks!labsRcool@.community.nospan wrote:

I also responded to your other posting. It seems that you should
design a custom interface in VB.NET that allows a user to view the
report in some manner; but not actually have access to the report to
export it. I believe that an application can customize user access
much better.

When you say "VB.Net", are you refering to creating custom asp.net webpages
via vb.net, or are you suggesting the only way to accomplish my goal is to
move away from webpages all to gether?
Thanks

You should be able to use VB.NET to create custom web pages w/various
access levels.

I will attempt custom asp.net approach,
Thanks!
